Every where you travel , the same restaurants , this is bothersome to me.
At one time , 30 40 years ago and more , all you’d see are independent eateries , now , you really have to look for one .
I will not become like the flocks of America and just go along with the heard

We are surely asleep at the wheel ,aren’t we ?

I have promised myself for 2009 at I will NOT eat at any chain restaurants , so for so good .
I just returned from a 2400 trip where it took effort to them .
This is going to be a most excellent trip for 2009.
I just wish I could get more people into this movement

I think late night runs are okay – what choice do you have?
But I would question the motivation? Are you avoiding the chain mentality (low quality, high profits, etc) or is it because the food isn’t enjoyable? Some places are technically chains but still make great food (Texas Roadhouse for example).
